Renewable Heating Solutions
"Renewable energy is generally defined as energy that comes from resources which are naturally replenished on a human timescale”
Here at Green Shop Gomshall we offer solutions on saving and making energy, specialising in Biomass, Solar Thermal, Air Source Heat Pumps and Ground Source Heat Pumps with a particular talent for integrating technologies to achieve the best, all round results.
Our Services include designing and installing complete heating systems for homeowners and businesses, servicing and maintenance, energy saving advice, and accessing any financial incentives or funding including RHI’s (Renewable Heat Incentives) and Green Deal.
Biomass is organic matter that can be used for heating air or water. Sources include managed forestry products such as logs and wood chips, industrial waste such as pellets from saw-dust, and agricultural by-products such as straw. Biomass is extremely effective at producing heat with no negative impact on the environment due to the natural cycle of carbon dioxide.
Solar Thermal is harnessing solar energy and storing it as thermal energy in water, to be used as domestic hot water (or possibly space heating).
Solar Photovoltaic (PV) is a method of generating electrical power by converting solar radiation into direct current electricity. Photovoltaic power generation employs solar panels composed of a number of solar cells containing a photovoltaic material.
Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) is a system which transfers heat from outside to inside a building. Under the principles of vapour compression refrigeration, an ASHP uses a refrigerant system involving a compressor and a condenser to absorb heat at one place and release it at another. They can be used as a space heater or a domestic hot water heater.
Ground Source Heat Pump or Geothermal Heat Pump (GSHP) is a central heating system that transfers heat from the ground. It uses the earth as a heat source, this design takes advantage of the moderate temperatures in the ground to boost efficiency and reduce the operational costs of heating systems.
